Spring Valley in the Past

In 1871, Almanzo and his parents moved from Malone, NY to Spring Valley, Minnesota, where they resided on a farm on the north edge of town. Within the next four years, Almanzo's siblings Laura, Royal, Eliza Jane, and Alice moved to Spring Valley, and married into local families.

Almanzo, Laura, and Rose lived in Spring Valley from the Spring of 1890 until October of 1891, at which time they travelled on to Westville, Florida in hopes of improving Almanzo's health.
