Guide to Walnut Grove

Walnut Grove, Minnesota in the Past

This is where the Ingalls lived in the dugout, then lived in the first house Pa had made out of milled lumber rather than logs. Here is where the grasshoppers destroyed the wheat crops, and where drought and blizzards hit.

Walnut Grove is where Laura lured Nellie into Plum Creek where the leaches were, where Laura and Mary first attended school, and where Pa was lost in the blizzard before Christmas. Pa also served as a Justice of the Peace in Walnut Grove.
