March 22, 2021 by admin

Detroit Public Library renamed one of their library branches the Laura Ingalls Wilder branch in 1967 and had a special dedication for the event with a program.  The branch – still open but now simply called the Wilder Branch today – was dedicated on Monday, February 6, 1967.

You can view the full program here.

It is not clear who was in attendance at the dedication,

They also have a photograph of the branch, prior to its new branch name, here.

The Detroit Public Library also has copies of various photographs, letters and illustrations in their collection, some of which can be viewed here.  It is part of Detroit Public Library’s Rare Book Collection and is open by appointment only.

Brand New Little House on the Prairie Cast Reunion Video for Stars in the House

March 20, 2021 by admin

There is another new Little House on the Prairie cast reunion to watch!  As part of the Stars in the House series for funding The Actors Fund, which helps the performing arts and entertainment community in times of need, crisis and transition.

I was also startled to read the fact the first episode aired 45 years ago… was it really that long!

Cast members include Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle, Rachel Lindsay Greenbush, Sidney Greenbush, Matthew Labyorteaux, Alison Arngrim, Dean Butler.

And at the end, the cast sings the song Bringing in the Sheaves, which was sung by the original cast in several episodes of Little House on the Prairie, including the episode Mr. Edwards Homecoming.

You can enjoy the full reunion here:
