The estate of Laura Ingalls Wilder passed to her only surviving child, Rose Wilder Lane, upon her death.
Rose also had no surviving children, and she instead left her estate to her “informally adopted grandson” Roger Lea MacBride, who was a close friend of hers and also served as her agent and lawyer.
Roger Lea MacBride was also involved in the creation of the television show after the death of Rose.
After Roger Lea MacBride passed away, his estate passed to his daughter Abigail MacBride Allen who is now in control of the Little House legacy, estimated to be worth $100 million today.
