The Wilder homestead, also known as the Almanzo Wilder Homestead, is the homestead where Almanzo and his family grew up on during his younger years, during which the book Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder takes place in.
The Wilder Homestead can be visited today and they try and show life as how Almanzo and his family would have lived it during the days of Farmer Boy. They have also added reconstructed buildings of the era, including a corn crib, barns and pump house.
The Wilder Homestead is the original home where they lived, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
