Little House fans have many fond memories of the music and songs from Little House in the Big Woods as they are introduced to not only many older songs popular during the pioneer era, but learn of Pa as a musician as he entertains both his family as well as friends with his fiddle playing.
The fiddling and the dancing went on and on. Laura and the other Laura stood around and watched the dancers. Then they sat down on the floor in a corner, and watched. The dancing was so pretty and the music so gay that Laura knew she could never get tired of it.
All the beautiful skirts went swirling by, and the boots went stamping, and the fiddle kept on singing gaily.

Buffalo Gals is one of the favorites from Little House in the Big Woods, although Pop! Goes the Weasel is arguably the best known song from the book, a song which as been popular long after the books were published.
