Hermione Baddeley is well known for numerous roles, including the iconic role of Ellen, the long suffering maid on Mary Poppins, which is the role most people will recognize her from. She began acting in 1927 and had roles in many other well known movies including A Christmas Carole, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and for Room at the Top, which garnered her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars. She also played the housekeeper Mrs. Naugatuck on the 70s television comedy Maude.
She also appeared in three episodes of Little House on the Prairie as Kezia Horn. It is after her character that the Lake Kezia Monster is named after. She doesn’t appear in any other episodes, although her character supposedly continues to reside in the house Harriet Oleson was attempting to evict her from.
