Little House on the Prairie began with a two hour pilot episode which aired on March 30, 1974. The pilot was picked up by NBC, and it premiered the first episode of the first season on September 11, 1974.
The series aired under the Little House on the Prairie TV series title until Mat 10, 1982. The show then changed its name to Little House: A New Beginning for its ninth season after Michael Landon left the show, and the new series focused on the lives of Laura and Manly.
Little House: A New Beginning only aired for one season, plus three additional specials, due to low ratings, and its last special aired at Christmas in 1984.
